In the aftermath of a report that the Warriors have been in contact with the Milwaukee Bucks about a potential trade involving JaVale McGee, head coach Steve Kerr addressed the rumors during his weekly appearance on "The Damon Bruce Show" on Thursday.

“The JaVale stuff was unfortunate,” Kerr said on 95.7 The Game. “It’s so hard to be a player these days, facing constant judgment from fans, from media. And there’s just leaks all the time and things that get exposed that you wish wouldn’t have."

On Wednesday, president of basketball ops/GM Bob Myers declined to discuss the McGee situation during his weekly interview on “The Greg Papa Show” with Bonta Hill.

“It doesn’t make sense for me or JaVale or our team or the Milwaukee Bucks or anybody to talk about that publicly,” Myers said.

With the rise of Jordan Bell, McGee has toppled out of the rotation, totaling a combined 11 minutes in the past four game.

“But it happens,” Kerr continued. “And it’s up to the player to have to sort of deal with that. It’s a big part of their job. I tell our guys all the time, ‘The reason you make money, and the money that you do, is not for playing basketball. It’s for all the other stuff. It’s for getting traded, for getting booed, getting cut and getting injured.’”

“Those are the things where you really earn your money and unfortunately right now that’s part of the deal for JaVale having to deal with those rumors.”
