Executive board member Jerry West is leaving the Golden State Warriors to take on a role with the Los Angeles Clippers, according to Jack McCallum of Sports Illustrated.

West, who spent six years with Golden State, famously threatened to resign had the Warriors gone ahead with the proposed Kevin Love-for-Klay Thompson trade. The Logo also got on the phone to pitch Kevin Durant on a move to the Bay Area while the club was pursuing the star small forward last summer.

West provided comments on his move, per Ramona Shelburne of ESPN:

Warriors owner Joe Lacob provided a statement on West's exit, via Marc Stein of ESPN:

West is the second prominent member of the brain trust to depart in recent weeks, as former assistant general manager Travis Schlenk signed on as the Atlanta Hawks GM on May 25.
