In an appearance on “Mornings W/ Joe, Lo & Dibs” on 95.7 Dubs Radio, longtime NFL insider John Clayton said he expects Derek Carr to eventually secure a richer contract than Andrew Luck, whose current pact guarantees the Colts quarterback $87 million.

The host of “The John Clayton Show” on 710 ESPN Seattle isn't so sure that the Raiders and their star signal-caller we be able to reach that deal before Carr's self-imposed negotiating deadline arrives at the start of training camp.

“This is a tough one for the Raiders because you think about what they have to do in the next couple months,” Clayton said. “They know that Khalil Mack is going to command about $20 million. Gabe Jackson is going to be anywhere north of $8 million to $10 million. So, that's a lot of money."

“I think this is going to be very difficult. So, I have no guarantee that this deal is going to get done.”
