Derek Carr spoke to the media today for the first time since signing a monster extension with the Silver & Black. The often helpful and humble Carr spent much of the interview focused on what this payday would mean to his team.

"The main thing that I could just remember was, all along the way, was like well, how do I keep my Teammates." said Carr.  He also said, "I just wanted to get mine done and make sure that the Raiders still had room to keep my friends around."

As part of the decision process, Carr's focus was to make sure this contract wouldn't hinder the Raiders from retaining other players, and mentioned thinking about Gabe Jackson, Khalil Mack and Amari Cooper in his decision.

Carr also made it clear that his team is his priority. "I didn't want to hurt our team, that is the last thing I’d ever want do”

The Raiders franchise QB signed a 5 year extension worth $125 Million Dollars, that will keep him with the team through 2022.
