Another athlete won the coveted Mirror Ball trophy on  “Dancing with the Stars,” former New York Giant Rashad Jennings and his partner Emma Slater. Of the show’s 24 seasons, ten athletes have won the popular dance competition, and with good reason. Dancing is a strenuous activity, and athletes are not only in good shape, but also have the stamina to practice and perform throughout the weeks, and know what it takes to go through the routine of a daily grind to be successful physically. Jennings spent a total of 362 hours in rehearsal with his partner, which is more than any contestant that has competed on the show. With that type of dedication, it’s no wonder why he quickstepped to the number one spot.

Last night, Jennings tweeted his excitement in the victory:

Jennings beat out former Cubs catcher and now ESPN analyst David Ross. Ross tweeted out congratulations to his competition:

While fans anxiously waited for a rain delay to end in the Cubs vs. Giants game at Wrigley, David’s performance was showcased on the video board at the ballpark, entertaining the soggy crowd. The Cubbies went on to win Tuesday night, unlike their World Series Champion teammate, David Ross, but the team gathered around the clubhouse to watch the results of the show and cheer for their favorite "Old Guy." While Ross didn't get to Fly the W,  he definitely received tremendous support from Cubs fans:

Rashad Jennings is part of an elite list of Former NFL players who could bust a move on the dancer floor. NFL Stars Emmit Smith, Hines Ward and Donald Driver won titles in the past. While a local favorite, The GOAT, Jerry Rice finished second his season.

Jennings and Slater will join the Dancing With the Stars LIVE tour, ‘Hot Summer Nights’.
