The Oakland A's plans to build a ballpark at the Laney College site have screeched to a halt.

The San Francisco Chronicle's Kimberly Veklerov reported that governing board of the community college has told the chancellor to stop ballpark plans with the team. The A's had been talking to local neighborhood, business and religious groups with an eye on opening the new park by 2023.
