On the one-year anniversary of the Warriors ground-breaking ceremony for the club's new stadium, president and COO Rick Welts joined "Mornings W/ Joe, Lo & Dibs" on Wednesday to provide the latest update on the construction of Chase Center.

“A year ago we had dancing cranes and acrobats...and I thought that was exciting," Welts said to Joe Fortenbaugh, Lorenzo Neal and Dan Dibley on 95.7 The Game."But if you go by the site today, I think what you see now is a lot more exciting."

The new building is slated to open for the 2019-2020 NBA season.

“We’re about, I’d say 40 percent complete right now. You can actually now see the structural steel that’s going up that’s forming the seating bowl. On a weekend, when there’s nobody working, I can go down there and stand there at center court and look up and really now start to see what the seating configuration is going to look like.”
