The Golden State Warriors have locked in Steve Kerr, officially announcing the head coach's contract extension on Tuesday afternoon.

Per club policies, the Warriors didn't release terms of the deal, but ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski had reported that it will make Kerr "one of the highest paid coaches." The Warriors won three titles in Kerr's first four seasons, which makes him one of two coaches (along with Phil Jackson), to accomplish that feat.

“We’re excited to have Steve under contract and poised to lead our team over the next several years," president of basketball ops/GM Bob Myers said.

“Under his guidance, we’ve been fortunate enough to win three NBA titles in four years and his ability to thrive in all facets of his job is certainly a primary reason for out success. He is a terrific coach, but more importantly an incredible human being.”
