As of the start of Battle of the Bay, rookie starter Nick Mullens was unverified on Twitter. In the spring of 2017, he went undrafted out of Southern Miss, where Brett Farve once slung footballs with reckless abandon.

On Thursday night, he became the owner of Jon Gruden’s Oakland Raiders.

Starting in the place of the sidelined C.J. Beathard, Mullens led the 49ers to their second win of the season, a 34-3 rout of the Raiders.

The scales were not titled in the young dude’s favor.

Building off the fast start, Mr. Mullens became a Twitter trend, slicing up the Raiders’ defense for three touchdowns and a 151.9 QB rating.

Oh, and he’s now verified.
