Trent Williams, the star left tackle who will be stepping in for Joe Staley in Santa Clara, is already fielding questions about his long-term future with his new club.

Listen to your team news NOW.

“I think that was part of the first conversation,” Williams said on Joe, Lo & Dibs on Friday morning. “This isn’t just a one-year rental.”

“They didn’t look at it as a one-year rental,” Williams added. “But you know, getting things done in the crunch time, we just had to get it done first.”

“My only focus is returning to dominance. I know if I’m a dominant player everything else will take care of itself. I’m where I want to be.

“I don’t really foresee leaving.”

“But, this business is a business. I have one year left and I’m gonna do my best to just make my resurgence as one of the best tackles in the game. And, if I can do that, I know the rest will just take care of itself."
