Kevin Durant showed up to Warriors’ practice in downtown Oakland on Thursday wearing green and green and gold Nikes.

It was a fitting touch in light of the Warriors’ upcoming trip to the Seattle where Durant will make his NBA homecoming on Friday night against the Sacramento Kings.

“I think his shoes tell the story,” A beaming Steve Kerr told reporters. “He’s got a strong connection with Seattle, having played there for a year — basically being drafted by that organization.”

“I think he’s going to get a huge ovation,” the head coach continued. “So, in my mind, tomorrow night’s game is really about Kevin and about the Sonics and about the history of the league in Seattle.”

Asked if if anything special has been planned for the preseason meeting, Kerr played coy.

“We’ll see,” Kerr said with a smile. “We’ll see.”
