Steve Kerr is, undoubtedly, one of the sharpest dudes in the NBA universe.

The quick wit was on display on Monday night when the head coach took a jab at Omri Casspi, the disappointing Warriors reserve of a season ago. Casspi, now a member of the Grizzlies, had dropped 20 points off the bench, as his Memphis squad lost to the Warriors,110-93.

Kerr was asked about the improved shooting off his bench (especially from 3-point range) when the light roasting began.

“Well, if Omri shot last year like he did tonight,” Kerr said, stopping to laugh. “He took four of them I think he only took eight all of last year.”

“Nah, Omri was great tonight. He had 20 points, he was killing us on the back cuts. But for whatever reason, he didn’t shoot threes last year. This year, we got some guys who are more willing to shoot.”

For the record, Casspi took 22 triples (making 10) in his abbreviated run with the Warriors last season.

“I know everyone is going to take that as a shot,” Kerr added. “But it was a joke.”

Oh, and this happened too (WARNING: NSFW).

Zaza really is the best.
