In the run-up to DeMarcus Cousins official debut with the Warriors, head coach Steve Kerr joined “The Damon Bruce Show” for his weekly conversation and talked all things Boogie.

Asked if the arrival of Cousins foreshadows a reinvention of the club — or something less dramatic, like the insertion of a player who’s just going to make them better — Kerr went with the latter.

“That’s how I look at it,” Kerr said on 95.7 The Game. “And I think that’s how DeMarcus looks at it too. He doesn’t want to reinvent anything.”

“And, let’s face it. We’re the two-time defending champs. We shouldn’t be reinventing ourselves. We should be adding to what we already have and that’s the plan.”

“And DeMarcus is a proven all-star player. He’s different from anything we’ve had in the past. So, he’s going to add a different dimension and it’s going to be really fun to incorporate him and integrate him in the offense.”

“And there will be some challenges, undoubtedly. It just doesn’t happen. The beauty of the sport is the pieces have to fit and work together.”

“And so, that doesn’t happen overnight. It’s going to take some time but I think we’re all really looking forward to the challenge and we’re all excited for DeMarcus that he’s coming back.”
