Santa Cruz Warriors named G League Franchise of the Year

Warriors’ affiliate pushed sellout streak to 59 games

The Santa Cruz Warriors were named the first-ever G League Franchise of the Year on Thursday.

A committee of league exec bestowed the honor on the Warriors’ affiliate on the basis of the G League’s three pillars: compete with intensity, lead with integrity and inspire play.

Per NBA.com, Santa Cruz was among the G League leaders in ticket sales, corporate partnerships and merchandise sales. The club also continued pushed its sellout streak to 59 games, a run that began during the 2015-16 season.

When Santa Cruz played at Oracle Arena on Jan. 28, 15, 528 fans poured into the Warriors home ground.
