Dodgers shift attention to Madison Bumgarner

Ed Szczepanski-USA TODAY Sports

Madison Bumgarner as a Dodger is becoming incresingly possible, according to a report from Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area.

Listen to your team news NOW.

"There is mutual interest between Madison Bumgarner and the Dodgers, sources told NBC Sports Bay Area this week," Pavlovic wrote. "And the Dodgers met with Bumgarner's representatives at the MLB Winter Meetings."

News of the possible union first broke after the Dodgers missed out on Gerrit Cole, now a Yankee for an astounding $324 million over nine seasons. The NL West power then turned its attention to the longtime nemesis, Bumgarner, on Wednesday night.

Bumgarner has been a thorn in the Dodgers’ side for better than a decade. So, the idea of the Giant legend donning Dodger blue is truly wild. And must be flummoxing for fans on either side of the divide. The latest chapter in Bumgarner v. Dodgers came last June, a tangle with one Max Muncy.

The idea of Clayton Kershaw and Madison Bumgarner atop a rotation sure would be something though.
