Ahead of the 49ers’ trip to Washington, Vernon Davis, the former longtime Niner joined “Bonta, Steiny & Guru” and had nothing but kind words for his first NFL employer.

“I think about the day I got drafted,” Davis said on 95.7 The Game. “They gave me a platform to be able to make a name for myself and to be able to show people (around) the world that I can play this game at a very high level and I can be successful at it.”

Davis, who’s missed the last two weeks in the concussion protocol, spent the first 10 seasons of his career with the 49ers.

“So, I always keep the 49ers in my heart,” Davis added. “Because, it’s hard to just let something like that go. I mean, so many memories, so much history, so much that went on during my time there. And I’ll forever be a 49er at heart.”
