‘I was pumped’ — Shanahan’s perfect response to not losing Saleh to Browns

Defensive coordinator had been a candidate to take over in Cleveland

After the Browns picked Kevin Stefanski, the guy who directed the Vikings’ offense in the 27-10 loss to the 49ers, over head-coach candidates like Robert Saleh, Kyle Shanahan was beaming.

He had quite the response to finding out that Saleh, who, in the course of a season had gone from persona non grata to one of the league’s foremost rising assistants, will be sticking around Santa Clara.

For Saleh (and Shanahan) the next task will be to corral Aaron Rodger who arrives at Levi’s on Sunday for the NFC Championship game.
