The 49ers have brought in a new receiver, signing free-agent Jordan Matthews. The club announced the news on Thrusday afternoon, the second official day of free agency, but no terms of the deal have been released.

“Whenever I’ve been put in a position to make plays, I’ve made them," Matthews said, per Joe Fann of the 49ers and 49ers Studio.

Matthews, who spent last season with the Eagles, had his best season back in 2015 when he racked up 997 yards. Last year, Matthews tallied 300 yards on a career low 28 targets.
