In the wake of the Warriors securing their second ring in as many seasons, veteran sage David West offered some comments that raised eyebrows.

Marc J. Spears of ESPN’s The Undefeated provides the scoop:

Shaun Livingston also hit on a similar note:

When Ron Adams joined “Joe, Lo & Dibs” on Monday morning, the Warriors assistant said he had no clue what West was referring to.

“Well, first of all, I’m a little mystified by that comment,” Adams said on 95.7 The Game.

“Actually, when I read it, I asked (assistant) Mike Brown, I said, ‘Mike, did I miss something this year?’”

“So, I don’t know. Quite frankly, I have no idea what David was talking about. Our year was marked by some inconsistency and in some games not playing to our potential certainly — playing half of a game or perhaps more, not always playing to our potential.”

“And I think that probably led to some frustration. But in terms of anything in the locker room that I can recall, I just, I don’t get that.

“I have no idea what he’s referring to. I mean, any season you have your ups-and-downs. I thought for the most part our guys stayed together well.

“So, I’m a bit mystified. Maybe you’d have to consult someone else on that. You know, I’m older and sometimes I miss things. I think I missed that one.”
