In the wake of a report that Jon Gruden is checking in with possible assistants, Bonta Hill and Bill Romanowski discussed the idea of a reunion between the Raiders and their old coach.

Here’s what Romo had to say when asked on “The Greg Papa Show” if dumping head coach Jack Del Rio and adding Gruden or even Jim Harbaugh is a realistic possibility.

“I think it would be a really tough call for (owner) Mark (Davis) to do that,” Romo said on 95.7 The Game. “But if a Jon Gruden came (and) gave him a call — I don’t know if he could even call him, but if that was a possibility, I think instantly we’re in the playoffs automatically next year with an offensive-minded head coach like Jon Gruden. I truly believe that.”

Romo also had high praise for the current Michigan boss and one-time 49er coach.

“I think if a Jim Harbaugh wanted back into the league, he is a turnaround king," Romo declared. “That’s what he, I think, the best in the world at. He turns organizations, teams, around — whether it be college or the pros. That’s what he does and he does it well.”
