Noted Jimmy G. proponent Bill Romanowksi joined “Mornings W/ Joe, Lo & Dibs” on Friday and explained just how high his hopes are for the 2018 49ers.

“I think the expectations for the Niners are the Super Bowl,” Romo told Chris Townsend and Daryle “The Guru” Johnson.

“And, if I’m (head coach) Kyle Shanahan, I walk into that room in training camp — well, you could even say in mini-camp — and no different than when I walked into my first meeting room with Bill Walsh and he said, ‘Men, our goal is to win a world championship and nothing less is acceptable to this organization.’”

“Well, Kyle Shanahan needs to set that expectation Day 1," Romo continued. "I don’t think he was able to do that last year because I think people would have looked at him like, ‘What?’"

With Jimmy Garoppolo in place, that's no longer the case and Romo wants to see if the 49ers brass can elevate the club to the next level.

“Now we’re going to see if (general manager) John Lynch can create the magic everywhere else.”
