The Oakland A's would like to build their new stadium at the site near Laney College, according  to a report from Matier & Ross of the San Francisco Chronicle on Tuesday night.

“Finally, we’ve got our site,” team President Dave Kaval told the Chronicle. “It’s really the strongest location when it comes to private financing, and that’s really an important component to be successful.”

The A's have been deciding between the Laney location, Howard Terminal and the current Coliseum site. According to Matier & Ross, the club would loke to play their first game at Laney in 2023.

“We firmly believe that the Peralta site represents the best opportunity to keep Oakland’s last professional sports team in Oakland for the long term,” Kaval added. "The A’s need a modern venue so that we can put the most competitive product on the field and provide the best experience for our fans.”

On Wednesday morning, the club released a video on its official Twitter account, voiced by Kaval, laying out their vision.

“We want to build a ballpark bigger than baseball — a gathering place to bring our community together."
