With “Steiny and Guru” broadcasting live from Chase Center Experience on Friday morning, Rick Welts, the club president and COO, and Tim Hardaway, the Run TMC legend, swung by for an engaging conversation.

When Welts was asked about the challenge of striking a balance between getting involved in the day-to-day action of the NBA season and maintaining focus on the big picture (aka the move to Chase Center), the exec offered the following:

“The thing that I believe our fans understand by now is that the people who own the Golden State Warriors are all about winning, right?” Welts said on 95.7 The Game.

“If there’s the opportunity to keep this team together, to keep this roll going going, it’s not going to be because of a lack of resources. It’s going to be decisions that are outside of our control.”

“So, the commitment is we’re going to do everything we can to have the best possible basketball team we can for as long as we can. And, that’s what (owner/CEO) Joe Lacob and Peter Guber are all about and it’s — part of it is, it’s really not about Chase Center. It’s really about kind of the DNA of the organization.”
