On “The Woj Pod” with ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, Paul George admitted that in an alternate universe, he could be playing basketball for the Golden State Warriors next year.

As Woj detailed, the Pacers had offered PG-13 to the Dubs before ultimately sending the star forward to the Oklahoma City Thunder earlier in the offseason. The Pacers wanted Klay Thompson in exchange, which resulted in a “no” from Golden State.

George told Woj that he was familiar with the rumor — not that he ever thought anything would come of it:

“Yeah, I think that would have been a Chris Paul to L.A. situation where they got denied at that trade,” George said. “Yeah, I was aware of it. I would've looked forward to it, of just being in a good situation and a chance to compete for a championship. But it didn't happen. It's still fun to team up with a special talent and have a chance to compete against that team.”
