Peyton Manning, the two-time Super Bowl champ and 14-time Pro Bowler, was on hand at Raiders training camp on Thursday, overseeing the practice fields.

The ex-Colt and Bronco took the time afterwards to share a hilarious story about current Raider head coach Jon Gruden, who oversaw one of Manning’s Pro Bowl squads nearly two decades ago.

Suffice it to say that Gruden knows how to motivate an NFLer.

“Just that one week at the Pro Bowl 18 years ago… The Pro Bowl is a little different now,” Manning said. “But back then it was a little more intense and serious, but that week guys wanted to kind of run through a wall just for him as our Pro Bowl Hawaiian coach — partially because he bought all the beer for all the players, which was smart. It’s smart. I think it helped him in free agency.”
