Way back in November, when Farhan Zaidi landed in San Francisco as the Giants president of baseball ops, the newly-minted czar explained that everything was “on the table,” including a trade of Madison Bumgarner.

On Tuesday, when the Giants pitchers and catchers arrived in Scottsdale, MadBum addressed the trade speculation for the first time.

“Obviously, this is where I came up,” Bumgarner said, via Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area.  “I’ve been through a lot here. A lot of good times and a few bad times, also. Obviously I would love to stay here. If that happens or not, I don’t know. Some parts are in my control, some parts aren’t.”

Bumgarner, who has pitched 17 and 21 games, respectively, in the past two seasons, is making $12 million in his final year under Giants control. The team finished in last place in 2017 and fourth in 2018.

“For right now, I’m just focused on getting this year started and getting back to the postseason.”
