As has been frequently reported, Kevin Durant plans to decline his $26.3 million option to become a free agent and re-sign with the Warriors once the new league year begins on July 1.

Following Jacob Evans introductory press conference on Monday, president of basketball ops/GM Bob Myers said he’s still not certain if Durant prefers a one-year deal or a multiyear pact. He also said he expects a smooth negotiation process.

“No, I think we’ll figure that out this week or early next week,” Myers said. “But again, I’m not too focused on it. Whatever works for him and us. I’m sure it will be easy.”

Durant, the back-to-back Finals MVP, is one of seven Warriors free agents.
