In advance of the Warriors’ first preseason meeting with the Lakers, Mychal Thompson joined “The Greg Papa Show” with Bonta Hill.

Per usual, the father of Klay Thompson and the current Laker broadcaster and 710 ESPN host had a lot to say. Let the prognostications begin.

“Today is the first of 13 meetings between these two teams,” Thompson said on 95.7 The Game. “That’s right. I said it, Papa and Bonta. 13 meetings. Two preseason games. Four regular season games and SEVEN in the playoffs. How about that?”

So, what round will those seven playoffs games be in...

“Oh, conference finals, man. You don’t bring LeBron in to get eliminated in the second round. When has that ever happened to LeBron?

Thompson also dished on Klay’s outlook for the new year and that beard. The patriarch thinks his son is at the perfect intersection of experience and talent.

“I expect him to have his best year yet,” Thompson said. “And shoot his highest percentage yet.”

“I like the new look. It makes him look rugged. I always tell him, he should try to get the dreads… I always tell my sons, if I was a young player in the league, I would have the dread-locks look like I’m from the islands.”

Mr. Thompson is a gem. Catch the full interview below:
