In an appearance on “The Damon Bruce Show” on 95.7 The Game on Friday, NFL Network's Mike Silver discussed an array of topics from around the league — including the ongoing holdout of Radiers left tackle Donald Penn.

“It's a staredown,” Silver said. “I think if you're looking for movement, you're looking at that first preseason game for starters and if you are rooting for Donald Penn to get more money, you're hoping that offensive line looks awful — specifically the left tackle position can't protect and it's an issue.”

“If you're rooting for Donald Penn to not get more money, you're looking for the left tackle position to look awesome and smooth.”

There is one thing that both sides can agree upon.

“I believe that most fans are just rooting for it to end,” Silver said. “And so, I think you're rooting for one or the other but not a middle ground because that to me is where the leverage point can move.”
