Miguel Ramirez, a 56-year-old father of three and custodian for Entercom San Francisco and KPIX 5, was fatally shot in front of his Richmond home on Tuesday evening.

In a statement posted on a GoFundMe page for Ramirez, his daughter wrote that a stray bullet struck her father while he was going to collect the mail outside his home. Ramirez was pronounced dead shortly after 5:00 pm.

“We were all shocked and saddened to hear the news today about the senseless killing of our longtime janitor Miguel Ramirez,” Greg Nemitz, a senior vice president for Entercom, parent company of 95.7 The Game, wrote in an internal statement.

“Miguel was a familiar, friendly person who was known by everyone who works in this building.”

His family is raising money to pay for funeral arrangements right here.
