Memorial contributions for Gretchen Piscotty can be made to ALS Therapy Development Institute

A's will match up to $50,000 in donations

In the wake of the passing of Gretchen Piscotty, the mother of Oakland A's outfielder Stephen Piscotty, who lost her battle with ALS on Sunday night, the club has announced how memorial contributions can be made.

Those who want to donate in Piscotty's honor can contribute to the ALS Therapy Development Institute via A’s will match up to $50,000.

Executive VP of Baseball Ops Billy Beane released statement on Piscotty's passing via the team.

“The Athletics organization extends its deepest condolences to the Piscotty family on the loss of Gretchen," Beane said. “She was a devoted wife and mother, whose legacy will live on through her husband, Mike, and their sons Stephen, Austin and Nick.”
