Matt Steinmetz has heard enough from the Patrick McCaw detractors and the co-host of “Steinmetz and Guru” laid it all out on Wednesday morning.

Here’s a partial transcript of Steiny’s thoughts on McCaw, who remains a holdout from the back-to-back champs and the target of a flood of criticism.

“Nobody knows what’s happening with Patrick McCaw,” Steinmetz said on 95.7 The Game. “Nobody except Patrick McCaw. We have no idea what’s going on with Patrick McCaw.”

“Last year, there was a lot of literature and a lot of NBA players who talked about mental health issues, alright. And, you’d like to think that because those issues were brought to the fore that people would learn from those kind of things.”

“Again, I don’t know what’s going on with Patrick McCaw. I do know that he took a fall last year that none of us have ever taken and you know what? Is it crazy to think that it’s the kind of thing that could alter your life?”

“Well, it’s not fair to say it definitely shouldn’t.”

“Look, I don’t know what’s going on with Patrick McCaw, but the mere fact that this young player is choosing to go a route that is so unusual, to me, is proof that there’s something more going on with this kid that is so far beyond basketball that we do him and the whole situation a disservice by saying, ‘What a dumb guy. How stupid can you be? Look at (Alfonzo) McKinnie taking his minutes. What a mistake. Throwing away your career.’”

“You ought to be ashamed if that’s where you’re coming from.”
