Larry Baer, president and CEO of the Giants, joined “Joe, Lo & Dibs” on Tuesday to offer praise for Bruce Bochy and also discuss the state of the team at large.

Most notably, Baer addressed the outlook for Madison Bumgarner, who spent the offseason on the trade block as he begins his final season of team control with the Giants.

“Everybody thought we were going to trade him in the offseason,” Baer said on 95.7 The Game. “We didn’t trade him because we want him to win games for us this year.”

“I can’t predict what will happen because we’re going to have, obviously, potentially a free-agent negotiation and (in) free-agent negotiations you just don’t know where they’re going to go…”

“Free-agent negotiations can be unpredictable but I know that the best predictor for Madison remaining a Giant will be strong performance this year by him and the team.”
