The ever nonchalant Klay Thompson was nowhere to be found at practice the day before dropping 60 points on the Indiana Pacers.

It was an all-too-perfect gem first told by Kevin Durant during an April appearance on “The Bill Simmons Podcast.” In an impeccable feature on the Splash Brother penned by ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne, Thompson offered a quick explanation for what happened that morning.

“I was already an hour late once I woke up, so it wasn’t worth going at that point," Thompson said. "I could just go back later.”

Never change, Klay.
