Joey Bart, the No. 2 pick in the 2018 draft and the crown jewel of the Giants farm system, called into “Joe, Lo & Dibs” to talk about what life is like in his first major league spring training.

Bart talked catching Madison Bumgarner and learning from Buster Posey. Oh, and he also addressed the protracted free agencies of Bryce Harper and Manny Machado.

It’s the the lead story in the baseball universe, if not the Giants Scottsdale clubhouse. Bart, by his own admission, is no MLB insider. But he’s still feeling bullish when it comes to the Giants’ chances of signing one of the unsigned kingpins.

“I think I might be the only (person) to bring it up,” Bart said. “I’m pretty excited about it, just from following it. But, no one’s really talking about it, to be honest with you."

“I like to think that we’re a contender for one of those guys but there’s no rumblings going on here in the clubhouse, obviously. But, we just have pitchers and catchers here. So, maybe some volume will get turned up, but, I don’t know…”

“I’m not Jon Heyman or (Ken) Rosenthal or whatever to give you the spill on all that, but I think I can sense that one of those two guys will probably be signing here pretty soon — if I had to put my two cents in.”
