Not much has gone right for Joe Panik on the diamond in 2019. The 2014 World Series winner saw his orange and black tenure come to a close on Tuesday when the only MLB team he's known designated him for assignment, a move telegraphed by the deadline day addition of fellow left-handed hitting second baseman Scooter Gennett.

In the aftermath of his depature, Panik offered a sincere message to the club and it's fans, via The Athletic's Andrew Baggarly:

Panik spent six seasons with the Giants, collecting a ring, an All-Star nod and a Gold Glove.
