Count Jerry Rice among the members of the burgeoning Nick Mullens fan club. The Hall of Famer shared his thoughts on the new Niners QB during his weekly appearance with “Joe, Lo & Dibs” on Monday morning.

“Oh, Nick Mullens, he was just unbelievable,” Rice said on 95.7 The Game.

“It’s almost like, I don’t like to compare people, but just to see his composure on the football field — it was almost like Jimmy G.”

In his debut on Thursday Night Football in Santa Clara, Mullens picked apart the Raiders, connecting on 16 of 22 passes for 262 yards as he aired out three touchdowns.

“And the guy, he was so intelligent and he was looking the defenders off,” Rice continued. “He knew exactly where he wanted to go with the football. And, to see that first score for Pierre Garçon, I was happy to see him catch the ball and get into the endzone.”

“But Nick was just unbelievable and he showed a lot of composure on the football field.”
