The day after a Jay Glazer bomb suggesting that Amari Cooper could be part of a silver-and-black fire sale, Jerry Rice joined “Joe, Lo & Dibs” to discuss how the wide Arda Turan out would in Santa Clara.

“I know what this guy, what he brings to the table," Rice said on 95.7 The Game. "Right now, in the receiving core (for the 49ers), we haven't had that receiver that went out and just completely dominated every football game.”

“So, they've been struggling a little bit in that area, and if you can bring a guy like Amari Cooper in and add him into the mix, then knowing that he's a very productive receiver, he's a guy that can get downfield, can get behind you, can strike some fear into the opponent, why not go for it?"

Cooper has had plenty of struggles of his own. Former No. 4 overall pick amassed just 680 yards last season and has tallied 280 through the first six games of the current campaign.

“I think with him, his confidence is a little bit down right now,” Rice explained. "It could be what’s happening with the Raiders. Because you go all the way to London and you only put three points on the board, so that just shows that that team is really struggling over but…”

"If this guy can come in and if he can work a little bit harder, he can work on his skills, I think he really can contribute to the San Francisco 49ers.”

For context, head Jon Gruden dodged the question when asked about the trade report, following the Raiders’ 27-3 loss to the Seahawks in London.

"I don't know," Gruden told reporters. "I haven't heard that. I'm just sorry to have to deal with a lot of these reports. I just hope Amari is OK. Like I said, he's going to be a big part of our pass offense, and we'll see what happens here. Hopefully he's all right."

Oh, and Cooper is currently dealing with a concussion in the wake of Sunday’s loss.
