While Patrick McCaw was busy making his Cavs debut, Steve Kerr, the wing’s old boss, was on the phone with “The Damon Bruce Show” trying to make sense of the strange saga that ended with the ex-Dub picked Cleveland over the back-to-back champs.

“We didn’t really see this coming,” Kerr said on 95.7 The Game. “It’s a shame, really, because I thought he was really developing the last couple of years. Everybody here really liked him, players, coaches…”

“We were really hoping he’d be part of things for many years to come but he chose a different path and this is the way things played out. So, we all move on… and we’ll see how it plays out.”

“In the meantime, fortunately for us, Alfonzo McKinnie has seized the opportunity that was (presented to him). And Zo has taken the opportunity and just run with it. He’s really given us great minutes…”
