Jon Gruden is officially interested in becoming the next head coach of the Oakland Raiders, as the current "Monday Night Football" broadcaster explained in an interview with the Bay Area News Group.

“Well, I think I am being considered, yes," Gruden said. "I hope I’m a candidate.”

The one-time silver and black coach also revealed how long the hiring process could take, in the wake of Jack Del Rio's dismissal on Sunday.

“My understanding is they’re interviewing candidates this week and they’re going to let everybody know sometime early next week or whenever they make their decision,” Gruden said.

Gruden is currently slated to call the Chiefs vs. Titans playoff game on Saturday on ESPN.
