The day after Klay Thompson broke Stephen Curry’s record, sinking 14 3-pointers against the Chicago Bulls, Greg Papa explained where the Splash Bros stand in the history of the game.

Here’s the partial transcript from “The Greg Papa Show” with Bonta Hill on Tuesday afternoon:

“I go back to Mark Jackson’s comment,” Papa said on 95.7 The Game. “And he said it years before any of us really thought it. And we laughed at him…”

“The greatest shooting backcourt in the history of the NBA, and he’s accurate. There’s no doubt. And you know what? I don’t think he went far enough.”

“They are the two best shooters — regardless of position — in the history of the NBA.”

As Papa detailed, Steph is universally respected as the best shooter in league. But he wondered if Klay, the owner of the most 3’s in a quarter, playoff game and now in a regular season game, might overcome him.

“I think Klay could be one and Steph could be two," Papa said. "That’s what we’re talking about here. He’s that good.”

“So, Mark Jackson, you were ahead of the curve, but you didn’t go FAR enough. They are unquestionably the greatest shooting backcourt in the history of the NBA. They’re the two best shooting PLAYERS period.”
