Count Greg Papa as among the legion of supporters of Kyler Murray, sometime A’s prospect and current Heisman hopeful for the Oklahoma Sooners.

The co-host of “The Greg Papa Show” with Bonta Hill expounded on that argument during his Tuesday morning appearance on “Joe, Lo & Dibs.” Asked if Dwayne Haskins, Ohio St. star, will be the first QB off the draft board, Papa raised an intriguing hypothetical.

“I think he will be, unless Kyler Murray and Scott Boras change direction,” Papa said on 95.7 The Game.

The QB and outfielder has previously stated that he plans to leave football behind at season’s end and focus on baseball.

“Really?” Joe Fortenbaugh asked.

“I love Kyler Murray. Believe me, those of you that listen to my show or know me, I would never consider a quarterback his size ever — ever.”

“But, the game has changed and Urban Meyer changed the game by what he did with Alex Smith and Utah and just spreading out the field — not just the quarterback runs, which are still prevalent in college football, not as much in the NFL, obviously, it just doesn’t work.”

“But he opened up the field, the width of the field. And it’s just changed — the geometry…”

“I don’t know how tall Kyler Murray is but I stood right next to Baker Mayfield the night the Warriors won the title…”

Long story short, Papa said he was just about eye-to-eye with the Browns quarterback. Papa describes  himself as a “generous” 5-foot-10. So, he’s not sweating Murray’s height.

Oh, and one more thing.

“Kyler Murray should win the Heisman.”
