Warriors head coach Steve Kerr followed up on his comments about Klay Thompson not returning this season following the team's practice on Tuesday at the Biofreeze Performance Center.

"My comment was very matter of fact. It's just ACLs, generally they take 9-12 months," Kerr said. "I wasn't announcing anything. He's doing great with his rehab. It's still possible that he could play."

"I forgot with modern media, 'unlikely' is going to become on the ticker, out for the year and all that stuff. Probably my mistake for opening my mouth. Not the first time I've gotten myself in trouble for doing that."

Thompson suffered the knee injury during Game 6 of the NBA Finals. He had surgery on July 2.
