Warriors fall to new-look Lakers, 123-113, in Vegas

The two teams meet again on Friday in San Jose

It was a star-studded night in Las Vegas as the Warriors and Lakers met in the first of two preseason games between the two teams. 

The Lakers came out on top, 123-113, in Round 1.

The Splash Brothers led the way for the Warriors in Sin City. Stephen Curry had 23 points, going  6-for-11 from the field (2-for-3 from 3-point range), including 14 points in the first quarter alone. Klay Thompson had 20 points on 8-18 shooting (4-9 from 3).

Kevin Durant scored 18 points, going 8-for-14 before fouling out midway through the third quarter. He tallied all six of his fouls in just 24 minutes.

LeBron James did it all for the Lakers, as he finished with 15 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 assists, including a near half-court prayer to end the first half. He did not play in the second half.

The Warriors and Lakers will meet once more in the preseason before the regular season kicks off in six days. They will play at the SAP Center in San Jose this Friday at 7:30pm. As always, catch the action on 95.7 The Game.
