A day after making his historic debut for the Raiders, Giorgio Tavecchio dropped by “The Greg Papa Show” with Bonta Hill on 95.7 The Game on Monday.

“It's been a wild ride,” the former Cal kicker said. “I can tell you that."

Tavecchio, who was born in Milan, Italy, but played high school football at Campolindo High School in Moraga, was 4-for-4 in Sunday's 26-16 win over the Titans.

“Yesterday, I've got a lot of attention for it,” Tavecchio said. “But I really don't want it to be too much about me because yes, there is a duality in the moment where it was a very special day for me and my own personal journey, but the Oakland Raiders is a team. It's a great organization and we played well as a team and this is going to be a great season. I want to highlight that as much as possible.”

Tavecchio went undrafted out of Cal, ultimately signed a contract with the 49ers. He also spent time with the Packers and Lions, but never appeared in a game.

“It's special,” Tavecchio said. “There's only one silver and black in the whole world and it's a world-wide brand and it's been a special ride.”
