On the day that NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported that the 49ers expect Jimmy Garoppolo to be ready to go for OTAs, George Kittle, the club’s star tight end, joined “The Damon Bruce Show” live from the Super Bowl in Atlanta.

Fresh off his Pro Bowl debut, Kittle had kept a busy itinerary, but he still offered his thoughts on the looming return of one Jimmy G.

“We keep in touch every once in a while,” Kittle said on 95.7 The Game. “Obviously, he’s doing his rehab stuff. Jimmy’s a hard worker, so he’s going to come back stronger than ever.”

“I haven’t got a chance to do anything with him, but I’m definitely looking forward to getting back to work in OTAs and having him sling the rock again.”

Kittle, among the cavalry of 49ers to recruit Antonio Brown via social media, addressed the speculation swirling around the wideout, ultimately deferring to his bosses, general manager John Lynch and head coach Kyle Shanahan.

Kittle did admit that the following photoshop, spawned by a Jerry Rice interview on “Joe, Lo & Dibs,” crossed his timeline.

“You know what? I did see it,” Kittle said. “I thought it was a great photo, but you’ve got to talk to Mr. Lynch and coach Shanahan about that because I just show up and play football.”
