The day after snagged a crucial 41-yard touchdown catch in the 49ers 26-23 OT win over the Seahawks, Garrett Celek joined “The Greg Papa Show” with Bonta Hill.

“I feel like they’ve been rubbing it in our faces the past couple years. And so finally to pretty much shut them up, that just felt so good.”

“We haven’t won up there, but to get this win back at home, it did so much for us — especially with the way this season has gone for us and last year’s season. To be able to beat these guys, I can’t even it explain it. It just feels so good."

Celek, a Niner since 2012, also offered a fun anecdote on Richard Sherman, who earned the game ball for the afternoon. Celek has lived through the days when Sherman was persona non grata at Candlestick and later at Levi’s.

“When we first signed him, I was like, ‘Ah, man. I hate this guy,’” Celek recalled. “And then I learned quickly how awesome of a teammate he is.”

Life comes at you fast.

“I never thought I’d see the day, but yea, he’s a great teammate — a real good teammate — (a) great leader on our team. Yeah, just a great leader.”
