The back-to-back champion Warriors are meeting with free-agent wing Tyreke Evans on Monday.

Evans’ brother, Doc, who serves as his assistant manager joined the “Jason & John Show” on 92.9 FM ESPN in Memphis to reveal that information.

“It’s been crazy, like, we’ve had a lot of people come at him,” Doc Evans said. “Indiana. He met with OKC last night. He’s meeting with the Lakers, again, in about 10 minutes. And he has a few more. So, I think the Warriors, he has today. And Charlotte.”

Last year, Evans, who can play both guard spots and small forward, averaged 19.4 ppg, 5.2 apg and 5.1 rpg for the Grizzlies. The Warriors can use the the mid-level exception of $5.2 million to sign Evans, but it sounds like the veteran might have other plans in mind.

“If it was all about winning, then we would just say, 'We got a meeting with Golden State, we’re going to sign with them because they have the most probable chance of winning, anyway,'" Doc Evans continued.

"But it’s not about that. It’s about the best fit for him. Because we don’t want him to go to Golden State, and he was averaging 19 or 20 points a game (with the Grizzlies), when he gets to Golden State he's averaging 10 or 11. So, that’s not worth a chance to win a championship. We want him to be able to play. He’s not like a kid ready to retire. He’s still got something to prove, too. So, it’s more than that. The process is just seeing what’s best for him, what’s the best fit for him and also taking into consideration where he wants to go.”
