After whiffing on Giancarlo Stanton, the San Francisco have been linked to an assortment of powerful bats, including J.D. Martinez, who boomed 45 home runs in just 432 at bats in 2017

In an appearance on “The Greg Papa Show” with Bonta Hill on Friday afternoon, San Francisco Giants senior vice president/general manager Bobby Evans was elusive when asked if he’d met with Martinez and his rep, super agent Scott Boras.

“We’re in regular communication with Scott directly and other members of his office, just in terms of understanding what — not just one free agent — but (what) multiple free agents (are doing)," Evans said. “But, as we are with every agent.”

“Without trying to lead you to believe we’re focused, centrally, on one player, there’s a lot of different scenarios for us out there."

“We’re going to be proactive and we’ve got to find a way to address the lineup in a way that give (Brandon) Belt, (Brandon) Crawford and (Buster) Posey, particularly, reinforcement.”
