The Warriors got some encouraging news on the DeMarcus Cousins' front on Monday. The big man, who exited Saturday night's win early with a sore right ankle, got a clean bill of health after undergoing an MRI.

Here's what the team announced, via the Warriors PR Twitter account:

"DeMarcus Cousins underwent an MRI on his sore right ankle today, the results of which came back clean. He will not play in tonight’s game at San Antonio and will be listed as day-to-day."

With Cousins on the mend, Andrew Bogut, newly returned to the back-to-back champs, is the favorite to stand in for Boogie in the starting five. At least, that's what associate head coach Mike Brown hinted at during an interview with Matt Steinmetz and Daryle "The Guru" Johnson on Monday morning.

“Bogut’s the prime candidate to step in and give us a few minutes to begin the game off with," Brown said on 95.7 The Game.
